NetworkTools is built to make routine engineering work faster. It is not a replacement for the checks that keep a production network safe.
The practical rule
If a result will affect a live router, switch, firewall, optical system, customer service, SLA report or maintenance plan, verify it against the actual design and the current documentation for the equipment involved.
Calculations
Subnet, routing, bandwidth, availability and optical calculations are based on the values you provide and the assumptions described on each tool page. A correct calculation can still be the wrong answer for a particular network if the inputs, design assumptions or contractual rules are wrong.
Configuration templates
Generated Cisco or Juniper configuration is intentionally basic. Syntax and feature behavior can vary by hardware family, software release, licensing, VRF design, service architecture and local standards. Review generated commands before use and test them in an appropriate lab or change process.
Optical estimates
Optical budgets and fiber-loss results are planning estimates. Field measurements, optic specifications, wavelength, connector condition, splice quality, passive components and engineering margin all matter. Do not use an estimate as a substitute for required acceptance testing or troubleshooting measurements.
SLA and incident metrics
Availability, MTTR and downtime calculations do not interpret your customer contract or internal policy. Confirm which events, exclusions, clocks and measurement periods apply before using a result in an official report.
