NetworkTools is a collection of free calculators and reference tools for network engineering, NOC operations and troubleshooting. The goal is simple: make routine calculations quick without forcing you to create an account or hand over personal information first.
Why this site exists
Network work is full of small calculations that matter. A prefix has to be right. An optical budget needs enough margin. A maintenance window needs time for rollback. An SLA percentage has to translate into actual minutes. None of those jobs needs a complicated platform, but mistakes can still have real consequences.
NetworkTools puts those everyday utilities in one place and gives the result alongside enough explanation to make the number useful.
What you will find here
The current toolkit covers IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, VLSM, CIDR ranges and overlap checks, OSPF cost, BGP AS paths, bandwidth and transfer time, optical power and fiber loss, MTTR, SLA availability, incident timing, maintenance windows and basic configuration comparison or generation.
The Network Guides go a step further and explain the engineering ideas behind those tools. They are written as working references, not certification-course chapters.
Network News collects current headlines from selected official RSS and Atom feeds. NetworkTools shows a short excerpt and clear source attribution, then sends you to the publisher for the full article.
No account required
You do not need to register, create a profile or save a calculation history to use the site. That is intentional. The tools are meant to be quick utilities you can open, use and move on from.
Please keep sensitive information out of public web tools. Do not paste passwords, private keys, customer records, credentials or unredacted production configuration secrets into NetworkTools.
How to use the results
The calculators are engineering aids. They are not a substitute for current vendor documentation, peer review, lab validation or your organization’s change-control standards. If a result is going into a production change, verify it the same way you would verify hand-written work.
